v3.5.1 -DNS Lookup feature may cause slow response.

Issue
It has been revealed that DNS lookup is causing performance issues in some environments where the DNS lookup feature is configured to display DNS information by default.
When querying the database where the result will be displaying an IP address, DNS lookup can cause the system to run slowly, when collecting data from a large core or distribution router or switch.
Resolution
To resolve this issue it is recommended to change the default settings for DNS Lookup to Off. DNS lookup can still be enabled for individual reports through the filtering options when building a customized report. See DigiToll User Manual - Traffic Filtering
Action Required
To change the default settings navigate to the Site Configuration screen in the DigiToll menu, Configuration/Administrator/Site Configuration, and change the default setting for the following values:
  • resolvePublicIPByDNS, set Attribute Value = 0
  • resolvePrivateIPByDNS, set Attribute Value = 0
  • resolvePrivateIPByWINS, set Attribute Value = 0
To change the values in the Site Configuration screen simply highlight the value to change and click 'Modify'. Change the Attribute Value to 0 (Off) or 1 (On) and then click 'Confirm' to apply the changes. This must be repeated for each value.
